How long does it take to fill the application on average? I have never filled the application, I want to start filling after my GMAT exam

It depends majorly on 3 pointer:
1. How well can you articulate all your job responsibilities, achievements, failures and future goals
2. Your writing Skills
3. The research you have done about the School

If all 3 checks out, it might take you only a week. However, Suggest you to keep at least 2 weeks for the application. SOP takes a lot of brain storming and many iterations. You also need to get 2 LORs filled. This is for IIMC as it has only 1 SOP.

Thanks, that helps!

Rightly said about the SOP. Apart from the SOP there are many steps involved. Updated these steps here: Steps for IIMC MBAEX 2024 application

You will find this in section 7 - "This should include an objective and clear statement on why you want to join the MBAEx programme? What qualities, experience and achievements do you have to justify your admission? What types of jobs and at what level do you expect after successful completion of MBAEx? (word limit 500 words)'

A few pointers to keep in mind
1. Answer what is being asked - Ensure you answer everything the college has asked for. I have seen countless LORs where candidates fill in irrelevant details without understanding what the college wants to know about them.
2. Make sure you clearly articulate why do you want to MBA - you should have clear goals in mind and how MBA can help you achieve your goals
3. Shine the spotlight on your achievements (and failures) - The SOP can help showcase your working style, your ability to handle challenges and overcome failures. It can enhance your strengths and highlight how you can be an asset to the class. Focus on pivotal experiences and do not try to create ‘fictional’ stories.
4. Define a clear career path before and after the program: Leverage the SOP to highlight why you jumped jobs, took a break or chose a particular career path. You should also use your SOP to define a clear career path for yourself after MBA (or any other program you are applying to) which shows your clarity of thought and supports your aspirations for the program.

You should keep in mind some other details such as focusing on understanding the programme you are applying to, correct vocab & grammar and ensuring a smooth flow of your LORs
Best of Luck :thumbs-up:

1. Try to get 680 or higher to have a realistic chance of converting the call. Though you will always find candidates with scores in the range of 650-670 but it is always recommended to get a higher score.
2. Your chance for interview and final conversion depend on lot of things - GMAT score, how well you showcase your experience, how do you showcase your achievements, your interview prep etc.
3. On your profile - with a good score (around 680+), a solid SOP and application your chance of conversion are very realistic for IIM C.
DM me if you have any more questions.

Hello,

As correctly pointed out by Tridisha1, having a score in the range of 650-670 might get you an admit, but to ensure a strong application, it's advisable to aim for a safer score of 680+.

If you have already taken the GMAT, please update your score here. If you haven't yet, setting your sights on a score above 680 will put you in a good position to apply confidently.

Keep in mind that while the GMAT score is an essential factor, it's not the sole criteria for your application. You'll need to complement your GMAT achievement with other vital elements, such as:

1. A well-crafted Statement of Purpose (SOP) that narrates your unique story and aligns with the program's requirements (500 word limit).
2. A comprehensive showcase of your professional experience and achievements in the Roles and Responsibilities section.
3. Two balanced Letters of Recommendation (LORs) that highlight your strengths while acknowledging areas of improvement and how you are actively working to overcome them.
4. An optional essay that allows you to cover any aspect you might have missed in other parts of the application.

Should you need any further guidance or have questions about the application process, don't hesitate to reach out to me via direct message or email at namanax2023@email.iimcal.ac.in.

Wishing you the very best in your exciting application journey!

Best regards,
