EQUIPPED FOR THE KINGDOM
Every Believer Has A Role And Destiny In The Kingdom Of God. In Christ We Are Ministers Of A Gospel Of Power According To Him Who Works In Us.
When Jesus walked and ministered on the earth He modeled the normal kingdom life and told those who believe in Him to follow His example and life (Jn 13:15, 14:12; Mt 10:31). Before His ascension He commissioned His followers to preach the gospel of the kingdom to all living creatures on the earth (Mk 16:15). After He ascended He sent Holy Spirit to equip believers (Acts 1:8; 2:1-4) and gift them for supernatural ministry (Rom 12:4-8, 1Cor 12-14). In Ephesians 4, He also gave the church the five-fold ascension gifts for the equipping, building up, and maturing of the church.
The greatest equipping will happen in churches where the five-fold ministry gifts are in operation and expressed. Every believer is called, empowered and equipped, according to the power working in them, to fulfill all four parts of Jesus ministry as given in Matthew 10:8-10 & Mark 16:15-18. In Matthew 6 Jesus taught His disciples the prayer of the kingdom, instructing them to ask for breakthrough and the release of heaven on earth. Advancing the kingdom as Jesus did means learning to hear the voice of the Father (Jn 8:38; 14:10), see what He is doing (Jn 5:19), and recognizing the presence of Holy Spirit (Mk 5:30, Lk 4:14; 5:17). Preaching, healing the sick, and deliverance from demons are all to be the common expression of the Gospel and our authority (Lk 10:19, 1 Cor 2:4).
