Is GMAT score a likely cut off for MBB? : INSEAD

Jun 30 at 07:11am

Hi, I've been recently admitted into INSEAD 2024D batch.

I read somewhere of an informal cutoff into MBB programs for a GMAT score under 720. How true is this?

I have taken the GMAT once and scored a 710. I know i can probably improve my score if i studied for it once more.

Is it worth retaking the GMAT now that I've already been admitted? If it improves my shot at getting an interview at an MBB then i might as well spend the next couple months preparing for it right?

No. GMAT has no role in MBB interviews.

2024D is sometime away, but please start prepping on Case Study Interviews & Common Frameworks.

Hi hasman404

this is not true at all. I have seen many folks with scores between 660 and 700 get shortlists for MBB interviews. The most crucial factors for securing a shortlist from MBB (at INSEAD) are your resume and work experience/industry focus.

Was never asked to put the GMAT score.

BCG does ask for it in their profile section but that is optional I think

Hello hasman404,

Hope this finds you well.

Do not worry about a retake or a cutoff. Just make the most of your time at business school.

All the best!
