Kellogg Safe Profile Evaluation : Kellogg

Hi,
What does a general profile which secures an admit to Kellogg considers especially for a very common applicant pool like Indian IT/ Software Developer.
What would be the sort of profile they look for in terms of GMAT scores / Work ex / Acads and extra curriculars.

Assuming it's a software developer profile

750+ GMAT (760 better)

Avg work ex - 4-6 years with at least one promotion every 1.5 years of exp.

People management roles a plus

Academic record- untainted and pretty much a top 5 student and club/student association leader

Story needs to add up too coz "I want to be a product manager" is to a Software developer MBA as "World peace" is to a beauty pageant.

At MBA Conquerors we specialize in OR profiles but statistics are something that are not in our hands but in the hands of the candidate.

Good question though. I like the approach.

Hi Amey,

That's exactly what b-schools don't want to do- typeface profiles or compartmentalize them.
The best place to start for you will be to look at the class profile published by the b-school. This should give you a sense of the class statistics. As an Indian applicant you can add another 20-30 points to the class average to feel safe about the GMAT score.
Secondly, have a look at Linked in profiles of current students/ recent alumni. Here, you can search for Indian applicants and get a sense of their career trajectories, academics, extra-curricular activities.

IMO, the purpose of the application is to differentiate yourself rather than try to fit yourself in a mold. That would be more important for a common applicant profile.
