"The interviewer was a member of the admissions committee who was incredibly kind. With no small talk, she immediately explained the process. The interview was quite friendly but in a way like talking to a professor. She broke up the questions into many pieces to get quick responses. 1) Go over your college history and why you chose your major 2) Tell me about why you went to X industry right after college 3) Tell me about how you progressed at Y company in terms of your responsibilities and roles 4) Why did you quit Y company? 5) Tell me about your own startup 6) How did you find these clients? 7) What skills did your career experience help you gain? 8) Tell me about the most diverse team you worked with 9) How did you collaborate with these diverse people? 10) How would the people you work with describe you? 11) Could you compare how you were like as a leader in college and how you are as a leader now? 12) What’s changed? 13) What are your goals and why Kellogg? 14) (Because I spoke about Z club) any other clubs you are interested in? 15) Do you have a backup plan if your current plan doesn’t pan out, a plan B? 16) Do you have anything to add? There were a few more follow-up questions I cannot recall unfortunately."

"The interview was conducted by an alum, and it was incredibly friendly. After some small talk, he explained the process, the logistics and that the interview is just a part of the whole interview process. The interview took about an hour. He took notes and referred to them as he asked some questions. Here are the questions: 1) Tell me about yourself 2) Why MBA? Why now? 3) Follow-up questions (i.e. what's a role you envision yourself to be in in the long-term specifically) 4) For consulting, whether I want to be a generalist or a specialist (Given that was my short term goal) 5) Why Fuqua? 6) How would you contribute to Fuqua community? 7) Tell me about the last time you had a performance review and your strengths and weaknesses 8) Follow-up: Did you do anything to resolve your weaknesses and what were the results? 9) Tell me about a time you had to adapt your communication skills to influence a team or person? 10) Tell me about a diverse team you lead and how that led to the project's success 11) What defines your leadership style?"

"An alumnus interviewed me, and it lasted 45 minutes with an additional 15 minutes of questions for the interviewer and general "back and forth." The overall environment was very conversational, and I was able to connect with the alumni, sharing a similar background and work experience. 1) Walk me through the various decision points throughout your career. The interviewer was specific about not walking through the resume but providing context at each role change. 2) What are your near- and long-term career goals? 3) Why Kellogg? 4) Tell me about your greatest accomplishment. 5) Tell me about a time you received constructive feedback. 6) Tell me about a time one of your direct reports was trusted to accomplish something without your direct oversight. 7) How have you progressed at each role compared to your peers? 8) What unique thing would you bring to the class? 9) What would your peers say about you if asked? 10) Tell me about your leadership style. 11) Tell me about a time you worked with a difficult person."

"After 2 years browsing on GMATClub forum, I honestly don't see a lot of interview debriefs on Australian MBA programs, especially for AGSM. So here is my interview debrief, hopefully it could help someone out there looking into MBA programs in Australia. Interviewers: Dr. Kenneth Cheung (Head of Admissions) and Dr. Michele Roberts (Academic Director). They are the decision makers and have been personally hand-picking the applicants to shape the MBA cohort every single year. Interview Length: 30 minutes (the interview was strictly conducted in 30 minutes and ended sharply on time) Interview Format: business professional. The interview is a very important aspect of the application process and in their MBA admissions policy (which can be easily found on their "How to Apply" page), they wrote that applicants shall "maintain a high level of professionalism throughout all aspects of the application." Interview Questions: Q1: Explain to us your background and your CV highlights Q2: Why are you seeking an MBA? Q3: Why AGSM? Q4: Do you have any questions for us? Pro-tips: Because there were not much insights online regarding AGSM MBA debrief, I did most of my research on 1) LinkedIn where I reached out to AGSM alumni + students in the current cohort, and 2) used GMATClub interview tips videos to prepare, which was super helpful. One of the reasons I love AGSM was how amazingly welcoming the alumni + students + admissions teams were. All of them were willing to jump on a call with me to share more their program experience and the interview experience, and that's how I got my insights to prepare for the application process. Overall, AGSM is really focused on building a unique & diverse cohort where everyone can contribute their perspectives and learn from their peers. So make sure this is something that you can concisely explain to Dr. Kenneth and Dr. Michele what values/experiences you could bring to the table to enrich their community."

"My panel had two professors P1 and P2 and an alum A1. P1 ushered me into the room and the interview began on a high energy note. I had mentioned in my SOP that I've dabbled in stand-up comedy. They were very interested to find what I've done. P2: How do you go about preparing your material? Explained my process and the observations I used. P2: What's your best work? Told them about a script I'd written taking inspiration from the White House Correspondents' Association Annual Dinner and rewriting it for the India Parliament at the time. P2: Who are the comedians you look upto? Told them my top two comedians and my reasons. Worked in how I they inspired me to write Bangalore specific jokes. P1: Tell me some Bangalore specific jokes. Told them two and they had poker faces. My heart sank a little. P2: Moving on, you have mentioned industries like education and healthcare in your SOP. Do you think such companies come for placements? Told them that they currently do not. However, added that through my research, attending the open house, and talking to alums I've seen that the placements are largely student-driven. Added that these are my preferred industries, not necessity. P2: What impact can you create in the healthcare industry as a PM? I started rambling a little and told more process-oriented stuff than product oriented stuff. P2 seemed to get irritated. P2: Do you think these are process impacts or product impacts? I corrected myself and tied my answer to how a product could improve the said processes. P2: What can be an example of a product in healthcare that you'd like to build? I answered and tied to my own experience of getting admitted to multiple hospitals. P1 took over and asked questions about my sector, which was surprising because I was expecting questions more specific to my country. P1: With all the new online ed-tech courses and universities popping up, do you think traditional schools like our still hold importance? I chose to not take sides in this answer. I told that both can co-exist because India has a vast population and each of them have different needs. Solidified the answers with personal experiences. P1: Which age segment in the education space would you consider to be the most lucrative? Answered and gave reasons. Worked in a personal story into the answer. A1: I want to understand that you've mentioned both content and product roles in your application. What exactly do you do? Answered how I started by building content but slowly progressed to contributing at the product level too. And since this wasn't formal, wanted to pursue and MBA to formalise it. Panel: Any questions for us? I asked two questions - one related to preparing for a certain course and the second related to campus life. Overall, the interview was very pleasant and lasted for a little over 30 minutes. Not a stress interview at all. Would advise to keep your answers short and interesting because P2 seemed to get frustrated a bit when I was going off-topic. Be true and answer genuinely and make the answers as personal as possible. Also, be confident and don't let a low or an unexpected moment take you down. I struggled a bit during my post MBA goals part of the interview. Yet, i kept smiling and answered the rest of the questions. That could've played a significant role too in my selection."

"My panel had two professors P1 and P2 and an alum A1. After the usual pleasantries, P1 began with their questions. P1 seemed disinterested throughout and this was with everyone who interviewed with this panel. P1: Why does your parent company have a different market name and different registration name? Answered that this is done for various reasons and that multiple companies do it. P1: What is the problem that your company is facing with the auditors at the moment? Explained P1: How would you have solved this accounting problem? Answered P1 said they were done with their questions. A1 and P2 took over. A1: What are some of the products you've worked on? Answered and told them that the latest product I worked on was an after-school product for early learners. A1: Why did it shut down? Gave them the reasons and added my pitch that I understand products don't work in isolation but require multiple facets of a business to make it successful in the long run. That's why I need an MBA. Gave them examples of such incidents which I saw. A1: What would you have done to improve the product? Asked them for a few seconds to think. Post that gave an answer on the lines of pivoting model to B2B, reducing input costs, and changing the positioning of the product. P2: You mentioned you want to take courses W and X by Prof Y and Prof Z in you SOP. But they are no longer with the institute. What would you do? I asked them if those course are still being offered. They said yes. Told them that whoever the school would've selected to teach the course must've been thoroughly vetted. P2: You mention Product Management as your post MBA field. IIMC is not really known for its PM placements. How do you think you'll upskill yourself? I answered by stating facts from my research - PM Clubs, PM events etc. P2: The things you mentioned are mostly done by the students in the two-year program. I ensured him that I'd do my best to particpate and drive those clubs and events. Panel: Any questions for us? I asked two questions - one related to curriculum and one related to campus life. They answered comprehensively. My interview lasted for about 25 minutes. Not a stress interview at all. Very conversational. P1 remained disinterested throughout. It felt like a tactic though. My personal energy was a little on the lower side that day since I had a fever for the past two days. All this notwithstanding, I think the two key reasons for my rejection are - IIMC prefers candidates with 9+ years of experience and from more traditional domains like Finance, BFSI, and IT. It places candidates too in the more traditional domains. So I might not have been a good fit for the program."

"P1: Old prof started with what is SoC design engineer. What is SoC? Explained. Are you individual contributor ? No. I explained I am a functional lead role not a inline manager. Asked do I do appraisal? I said no...then started about initiatives. Jumped to what I initiatives I have bought. Laughed about it and pressured me. Prof asked about schemes for India's semiconductor manufacturing. Why intel doesn't have logo in phones? Explained about the ingredient branding done here. Intel doesn't Operate in mobile market. Alumni asked about intel monopoly. I corrected him about market figures. Intel is 6th in market share. Explained about tsmc. Explained him what we are doing to bring back leadership prodcuts. Explained the historu of intel about apple/challenges from Japan. Explained the history of semiconductor industry growth. How japan/China benefited from globalisation. Then finally he asked why epgp? I said learning/transformation/Chetan subramanian/collaboration between epgp/Pgp/pgpem students P3: asked do you a economist has spoken about sc policies. I answered it was raghuram rajan. Asked my opinion about it. I said I don't agree with it. Then done coz they didn't have much time left. Didn't prompt me to ask any questions"

"We started with the 10-min presentation. My interviewer let me finish the presentation then raised questions regarding the contents afterwards. Gave some really useful feedback from the perspective of an acutal consulting plan presentation, highlighting that I should've made the most of my 10 minutes (I used 7-8) as if I'm selling a consulting plan worth a million to a CEO. Do not end early. The next part was the motivation and some general MBA interview questions, 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why you think this is the right time to do MBA now? 3. How do you see you will contribute in HEC classroom? 4. After graduating from HEC, which company to work do you plan to work in? Why? 5. What’s your Leadership style? 6. Tell me more about your biggest achievement (essay question)? Lastly, my interviewer gave me some valuable advice for future job searching and the life in France (highlighting that learning French is important if I intend to find a job in France after graduation.) Overall, it was quite conversational and the interviewer was friendly, supportive yet straightforward."

"I was interviewed by Geoff Coons, Associate Director for FT MBA, and Mary Elms, Director of Career Education and Coaching. They started by giving a brief introduction about themselves and then took turns to ask the following questions (not necessarily in that order or those words) : 1. Tell me about yourself. 2. How did you find out about our school in Kingston? What is the process that you followed to shortlist schools? 3. Are you waiting on any deadline from any other school? Which schools did you apply to? 4. Which companies would you shortlist post MBA? Share about the career progression that you plan to have. 5. What are your strengths? 6. What are your areas of improvement? 7. Can you tell us about a time when you received constructive feedback? 8. What are the three most important values you look for in an organization? 9. You are a methodical person and have managed projects through a defined process. What are the steps you will take when a project presents you with many unexpected situations and requires you to be agile? 10. What are the steps you will take if a person in your team is not pulling his/her weight? If we were to reverse the situation, how will you take the feedback when you are the one lagging behind? 11. If you were to be admitted to Smith, what is something that will keep you up at night? What will you worry the most about? The questionnaire session lasted for about 40 minutes and then I was given the opportunity to ask questions. The interviewers were very friendly and provided a comfortable space for me to open up. I really enjoyed talking to them and I hope I did not bore them either. I hope this helps and wish all the future interviewees all the very best."

"Hi – I had my interview a few weeks ago and would like to share my experience. First, I got the interview invitation from LBS, and they told me that within the following days, they would match me with an interviewer. After a week, my regional manager shared his contact information with me. The following week was really stressful because my interviewer didn’t answer my emails, so I ended up sending him a phone message. The next day (Saturday), he called me and explained that he had had a terrible week, he was really sorry and asked me about my agenda, and we arranged an in-person interview on Monday (2 days after the call). I prepared for the interview and had my story clear and structured before the meeting. We met for breakfast, and it lasted around 2 hours. The experience was incredible, we had a fantastic chat, and he shared many valuable tips with me. To start, the interview was nothing as I was expecting. He never asked the classic MBA question explicitly. Otherwise, he asked many behavioural questions to get to know the real me. He started asking me about my personal life, my family and how I got to where I´m right now. Second, he asked me about my post-MBA and long-term goals, and we discussed how LBS would help me get there. Third, after one hour of chat, he gave me a paper with five questions and asked me to talk about the second topic, he left for 5 minutes, then came back and I gave my presentation. Finally, I asked him questions about his experience at LBS and we went over his amazing life experiences as an LBS student. My advice: - Prepare early: As soon as you get your interview invitation, you need to start preparing for the interview because you can’t anticipate when exactly it will be. I studied for more than two weeks after finally getting his call. - Be natural: Prepare well enough for the interview, structure your answers, and know your story, but more importantly, be natural. The interviewer is not looking for a robot that memorises all the answers, his goal is to determine if he would like to have you in class and see your LBS fit. -In-person interview: It´s another experience and story meeting online or in-person. He will only get to know you better through an in-person interview. -Be prepared: Do not be close to classic MBA questions; questions range from personal to behavioural to leadership. I even was asked a technical question about my sector. The interviewer will know the weaker areas of your application, so you need to know them too. -Length of answer: Try to answer in not more than 2-3 minutes for each question; your goal should be to turn the interview into a chat instead of a job interview. -Have fun: This is my biggest piece of advice. Have fun and enjoy the moment; LBS really does excellent work doing an alumni lead interview. The interviewer went through the same process, and he is not looking for reasons to reject you; he is only looking to get to know you better. I had an amazing time with my interviewer and will remember it for the rest of my life. I hope this debrief was useful. Good luck!"

"The interviewer (a senior adcom member who was also HBS Grad) was so nice and welcoming - really made me feel at ease throughout the process, and it felt really fun! 30 mins went by really quickly, and it did not feel like a rapid-fire Q&A at all. Was surprised at how many questions there are for my prior employer! Here is the list of questions: Ask about why picking my undergrad college. How was the exchange program (when I was a high school student) structured? How did you pick your prior employer and move to a different city? What is the big-picture view of your prior employer’s structure? What is your role at your prior employer? How did your role change as you moved to a more senior role? Which division would make the most revenue and which division would make the most profit at your prior employer? A follow-up related to my impromptu research on my prior employer Was dividing your prior employer into different product companies a good idea? Why do you think P/E firm would divide up the company? What was your thought process to go back to your home country and join your current startup from your prior employer and how did the transition go? What was the current startup’s mission, and how did it start? I answered the question, added on the long-term civic mission A follow-up on how did the users use the product of the startup? How current startup is doing, is it still a 10-person startup and what is the business model? What were the customer segments and did they change as the current startup scale? Who was the lead investor in the current startup? Did you participate in fundraising? Were there questions from investors that helped the current startup? How is working under the CEO? Outside of work, what do you like to do for fun?"

"The interviewer was a second-year US student at Fuqua, who is energetic, engaging and seems interested in my background and work exp. The interview lasted about 50 mins, with the last 20 mins for me to ask him some questions about his exp at Fuqua. The interview felt different compared to other alumni interviews I experienced as the interviewer gave his thoughts/comments after each question. It felt casual like a conversation with a friend, which helped to put me at ease. Here is the list of questions: How is this week going so far for you? How did you transition from your prior employer to your home country and how did you find your current startup? What is the biggest challenge that you had at your current startup? What is your future dream? What does diversity mean to you, in your opinion? What is the gender breakdown at the current startup? (threw me off a little bit) What is the most important lesson that I learned at my current startup? So you had your startup experience and your future dream, what do you want to do next and how does Fuqua come into play Asked about school athletics since we both cheered for US college sports Have you ever visited another metropolitan city in your country? Are there stereotypes between different cities in your country? Update: Got accepted with $$ as a Fuqua Impact Scholar! Super excited for the opportunity, good luck everyone!"

"The interviewer (a Kellogg 2Y alum from my home country) was nice and straightforward, asking questions related to points on my resume and then the typical Why MBA now/why Kellogg (which was closer to the end of the interview, surprisingly). She seemed genuinely curious about my career transitions, my work and community service, and my values as a collaborative team player. The interview lasted about an hour, with the last 10-15 mins for me to ask her some questions about her exp at Kellogg. Here is the list of questions: Walk me through your resume Were current community service part of your work at your current startup? More clarification on what current community service is, and it is not related to your current startup in terms of recipients Asking about the transition from the first corporation to current startup - why and was it a seamless transition? Tell me about a time that you work in a team with people from different backgrounds A follow-up question on the teamwork question - did my team talk directly with the customers? If your co-workers have to describe you in 3 words, what would be these words? Tell me about a time when you work on feedback from other members Tell me about a time when you have to bring people from different viewpoints together A follow-up on the question above about the roles of the people in the story What is your biggest contribution/impact in your current professional role? A follow-up on the question above about how long the current product in the current startup is on the market Why MBA now? Why Kellogg? For your career goal, why don’t you continue to work in your current startup and then lateral before building out your own company instead of going to business school? Tell me about your data visualization Follow up on data visualization Tell me about how you joined your current startup (is it pandemic impacted, did it impact your onboarding process, how do you get to know your colleagues) How does your current startup make money? If you sit with me at a dinner table, can you describe to me (who has no idea of what you do) your current startup and your role? Tell me about a time that you disagree with a co-worker. What is the startup incubator you mentioned in your resume? Do you enjoy working at your current startup? Why MBA now Why Sloan Do you have any questions for me? "I was interviewed by AdCom representative named Benjamin Austin for approximately 25 minutes. Initially, I was quite nervous as it was my first interview. However, Benjamin created a comfortable environment by approaching the conversation more as an advisor-student rather than a traditional interviewer-interviewee dynamic. This helped me relax and engage in a smooth conversation with him. My advice to you is not to panic excessively! Stern's interviewers are highly skilled and adept at putting candidates at ease. You will likely feel wonderful after conversing with them! Questions that I got: 1) Briefly introduce yourself, what are you doing in your job 2) Achievement/work that you were proud of 3) Experience that using leadership + cross functional skill (followed from the previous answer that I talked about the achievement using cross functional skill) 4) Constructive feedback you have received and how have you improved from that feedback 5) Goal that you wrote on the essay 6) Why MBA at Stern/how MBA at Stern will get you to your goal 7) (First, Benjamin made sure that I got a full scholarship from my employee and I don't need an internship program like the other students do) but do an internship program still help you in somehow? Do you need an internship? 8) Do you know the resources/communities in Stern that help you to get an internship work? 9) Have any internship firms in your mind? 10) Pic Six (Benjamin chose the one he's interested: travel) 11) How will you plan to spend you free time on weekend in NYC 12) Additional information that you wanna add on 13) Any question to ask back After the interview concluded, he mentioned that he would send today's interview and his comments to the central AdCom for the final decision. The admissions decision results will be announced within 3-4 weeks. In my case, I received the result after 4 weeks plus 3 business days. Good luck to all the future interviewees!"
